Where can I change|customize local and global settings?

You need to distinguish between network and local settings in Onyx. Open the settings dialog by menu Options|System Options on the local workstation. Different groups of settings are  summarized on vertical tabs. Details about the specific settings can be found in the context sensitive help which is availabkle for each tab separately.

How to I change the images displayed on tab |Patient|?

On tab |Patient Data| select the image types for both of the images to be displayed on tab |Patient|. Always the latest image of the pre-defined image type will be shown.

By the checkbox below it can be defined if the thumbnail which has a lower quality but will be displayed faster or the cropped original image which has a higher resolution|quality but might load longer should be used.

Where do I configure the link to my practice management software?

In Panel VDDS-Media on tab |Patient Data| activate checkbox Adoption of Master Data by VDDS-Media to configure OnyxCeph³™ for taking over patient master data from 3rd party software applications (such as practice management software). In addition, specific settings in the 3rd party software might be required which have to be provided by the manufacturer of this software. Please, also contact the manufacturer to find out if VDDS-media is supported by their product.

Why do I need to adjust my image type setting?

Depending on the image source|camera, each image type usualy has specific properties - see e.g. lateral and frontal clinical photos, lateral ceph xrays, panoramic xrays, intraoral photos etc. These properties can and should be adjusted on tab |Image Types|. First of all, this needs to be done for the image type aspect ratio (A/R), and image orientations to be corrected (mirror image, rotate image, ...) but also the location of the image-type-specific adjusting lines to be used for image cropping. The better image type properties are adjusted for the used image source|camera the more effective pictures can be imported and cropped and used in print forms and presentations.
